Roles and Responsibilities
Instructional Delivery & Planning
Objective Setting: Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
Lesson Execution: Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities and interactive lessons that help students meet established objectives.
Resource Management: Prepare the classroom using teaching aids and multimedia tools; utilize a variety of learning materials to ensure all students can access the curriculum.
Student Monitoring: Instruct and monitor students in the correct use of learning materials and equipment.
Assessment & Reporting
Performance Tracking: Assess student performance and development regularly.
Grading: Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, practicals, and assignments in a timely and quality manner.
Feedback: Provide consistent, high-quality feedback to encourage the progress of individual students.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and complete records of student grades and attendance; prepare termly reports as required.
Classroom Culture & Environment
Environment: Create a social, emotional, and physical environment that fosters learning for all students.
Behavioral Management: Manage student behavior by establishing and enforcing clear classroom rules and procedures.
Stewardship: Steward God's resources wisely for the advancement of His purposes at the Academy.
Collaboration & Professionalism
Communication: Regularly communicate student progress and needs to students, colleagues, and parents.
Professional Growth: Keep updated with developments in subject areas, teaching resources, and methods to update instructional plans.
Engagement: Participate in department, faculty, parent, and other community meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Spiritual Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to Jesus Christ and an investment in making disciples.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work in a Christ-honouring manner with diverse backgrounds; service-oriented and adaptable.
Education: First Degree in Teaching (Primary Education, Special Education, or Secondary Education).
Experience: Three years’ experience working within a dynamic educational environment.
Aptitude: * Solution-oriented with the ability to repair system inefficiencies.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing outcomes for students with special needs.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Preferred:
Knowledge of the demands of private school institutions in Jamaica.
